A Wild Netflix Record For The Queen’s Gambit
After two weeks of premiere The Queen’s Gambit just going to set a record. Netflix claimed that 62 million households have tuned in to watch the series.
The series is based on Walter Tevis’ 1983 novel of the same name. The main story of this series is about an orphan woman who develops refined chess skills. This special skill takes her all across the globe and leaves her with plenty of emotional and psychological scars.
The main character of the series is Beth who is a fierce and feminist female lead in a male-dominated world. Her relationship with drugs and alcohol is presented in a rock ‘n’ roll manner. Even Hollywood movies often don’t let women explore in such a way. Though Beth sometimes loses at a game, she’s always passionate about exercising control over her opponents’ egos.
Beth’s mother, Mrs. Alma Wheatley, played by Marielle Heller is another interesting character of this series. Here you will find a complex mother-daughter relationship throughout the series. The series is full of eye candy and interesting characters performed by notable actors including Harry Melling, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Marcin Dorociński, and twins Matthew and Russell Dennis Lewis.
The series follows the glamorous, sexy, and highly-stylized storytelling approach that is appreciated by its audiences. The ’60s fashion is so fantastic that the episodes are worthy of praise. The design of the set is very attractive and eye-catchy. That’s why the series is accepted by its audience enormously.
