Ice T Pays Tribute To “Only Fools & Horses’ Star John Challis
Ice T’s “close internet friend” John Challis had passed away on September 19. The actor was popularly known for playing second-hand car dealer Terrance Aubrey ‘Boycie’ Boyce. John Challis was suffering from cancer for the last few years.
Ice T has revealed that he “somehow became a Twitter friend” with the late actor. He posted on Twitter, “I just heard John passed away. He somehow became a Twitter friend. I’m very sad. Although I never met him in person. Internet friends can become close. RIP.” In recent times, the rapper wrote and the actor often chatted on Twitter. The pair regularly wish each other a Merry Christmas.
After the death, Challis’ family released a statement. The statement said, “Our dear friend and yours, John Challis, has died peacefully in his sleep, after a long battle with cancer.” It also added, “It is with heavy hearts that we bring you such sad news. He will always be loved for being ‘Boycie’ and leaves a great legacy of work that will continue to bring pleasure and smiles for many years to come.” Then they concluded, “Please respect the privacy of John’s family and friends at this difficult time, and be assured that in the future there will be an occasion to celebrate John’s life – when everyone will be welcome to come along.”
Challis’ family said that anyone who likes to donate in his memory can select animal charities Cuan Wildlife Rescue or the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.
