It’s a big happy moment for Sweden’s Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip. Because the royal couple is celebrating the christening of their third son Prince Julian. The ceremony is arranged in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace.

Prince Carl Philip’s parents, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia along with his sisters and their husbands glorified the ceremony. Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip’s two older children, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel were also present on this occasion.

Swedish public broadcaster SVT recorded the ceremony. Prince Julian wore a white gown for his christening. It was also worn by his father during his own baptism. The royal authority announced that they had chosen friends to act as godparents. That’s why Johan Andersson, Stina Andersson, Patrick Sommerlath, Jacob Högfeldt, and Frida Vesterberg acted as sponsors of the youngest son of the royal family.

Prince Julian received the middle names Herbert Folke. It was granted the Duchy of Halland. According to the Swedish Royal Court statement, he is the eighth grandchild for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and the seventh in line to the Swedish throne.
