Queen Elizabeth ‘Regretfully’ Cancels Plans to Attend COP26 Climate Conference due to undisclosed medical issues. The 95-year-old monarch has been advised to take a rest.

Last week, Queen Elizabeth spent a night in the hospital. It is heard that she has undergone “preliminary investigations”. However, the royal authority said that she was “in good spirits”. The queen was supposed to attend the United Nations COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Buckingham Palace shared a statement. The statement explained, “Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the Evening Reception of COP26 on Monday, 1st November.”
The statement also mentioned, “Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the Reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message.”

The statement continued, “Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today and remains in good spirits.”
