Rex Orange County has recently explained his career journey with Tyler, The Creator. He opened up about his experience working with Tyler, The Creator who has drastically transformed his career.

The rapper discussed his experience providing vocals for Tyler’s 2017 album called ‘Flower Boy’. He mentioned that this working experience has opened his eyes to a different world. He said, “Tyler, The Creator taught me by giving me a mirror to look at what I did on my own… couldn’t possibly understand from a bedroom in the countryside in the UK.”
The singer added: “I remember that The Game rolled up to the studio in a Red Rolls Royce! It just felt like a different world.” The collaborative relationship between Tyler and O’Connor started when Tyler sent him an email with an invitation to visit his studio in Los Angeles. In that email letter, Tyler praised the rapper for his excellent work.

The singer said, “I had 500 followers on SoundCloud at the time when I headed out to LA and nobody really knew who I was. It made me realize that if I have to believe in myself, then someone like Tyler will believe in me too.”

The singer-songwriter also added, “He’s taught me a lot, but also just him giving me a mirror to look at what I did – that I had made it out there and done it on my own.”
Rex Orange County also mentioned that the rapper and producer’s appreciation helped him a lot to increase his confidence in his work.
