Oscar Isaac Commented On Anti-Gay Bill Of Florida

During a virtual press event, Oscar Isaac commented on Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill. The virtual event was for the upcoming Disney series “Moon Knight”. The actor has clearly expressed his opinion about the bill as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill which was passed in Florida’s House and Senate. Surprisingly it hadn’t taken a public stance before that.

When the reporter asked the actor for his opinion on the bill, he replied, “I guess my comment would be gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gayyyyyy. Yeah, it’s an absolutely ridiculous law. It’s insane. It’s insanity. And I hope that Disney as a company comes out as forcefully as possible against this idea. It’s astounding that it even exists in this country.”

Disney is running a massive Disney World resort in central Florida for years. Disney employees made protested over the bill and they mentioned it as the company’s apathy to the bill. Disney employees staged a daylong walkout and took an official position against the bill.

Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek said, “but we chose not to take a public position on it because we thought we could be more effective working behind-the-scenes, engaging directly with lawmakers — on both sides of the aisle.”

Chapek also stated in an open letter, “Thank you to all who have reached out to me sharing your pain, frustration, and sadness over the company’s response to the Florida ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill,” Then Chapek wrote, “Speaking to you, reading your messages, and meeting with you have helped me better understand how painful our silence was.”

According to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten would be banned. The law stated that such instruction “in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate.”
